In this case, it seems to me that it was meant to draw a male crowd, considering the obvious point of focus of the photo; not only that, but the fact that the model is suggestively pulling down one side of her underwear.

I'm not going to bash, I just think everyone needs to actually look at what's being presented before stating their cases. Personally, it's not in my taste of art, but it's still rightly qualified as a glamour portrait.

People have different opinions on what art is and isn't and obviously yours clashes with this photographer's opinion as you so obviously stated. You said in another comment "don't agree don't comment" yet that's exactly what you did here. You're a hypocrite to what you say.

I'm not about to attack your gallery but I do wonder, what do you think art is?

I'm not about to critique the skills/techniques put into your work but isn't this pretty much the same thing? Sexually suggestive material. [link]

Don't cast an insult for something you yourself are guilty of.

I think you'll find that you're somewhat pathetic for going through someone's gallery just to prove something that didn't need proven.

Also, that last link? The 'Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?' Yeah, I asked her to draw that. The character is MINE.

Please read the artists note section before being a dick about something you know nothing about.

You say all of that like I care. That's not at all relevant because it doesn't change the fact that she drew it. I also like how you crawled out of the comments section from those pics to hunt out my comment. Bravo.

I honestly don't care which character is yours and what you asked her to draw because she still drew it. You say it like she had no choice in drawing it.

And you call me pathetic for looking for something to add to my argument. Why? Because I had to waste a whole 2 min looking through her stuff? I mean fuck me for pointing out her hypocrisy. And shit, obviously she told you and you had to go look for my comment to reply so by your logic, what does that make you?

I didn't look through any comments, I was here the whole time. She sent me a link to your idiocy.

She did have a choice. She didn't have to go draw if she didn't want to, but she's nice to people, unlike you. She's not a hypocrite at all. I also like the fact that you DID waste two minutes looking through someone's gallery just to make yourself feel better.

You humour me. You really do.

"I was here the whole time." "She sent me a link to your idiocy."

Those two statements contradict each other.

"She didn't have to go draw if she didn't want to, but she's nice to people, unlike you."

Okay, lol! That one really made me chuckle! What are you, in middle school? Jesus fucking christ, that made me tear up! [link]

Okay, number one... I was doing nothing but arguing my point and all of a sudden I'm a big fucking asshole for defending a photographer from someone who said his work was "disgusting". Who's the real asshole here? Second, you don't know me at all past a couple comments and had we met under different circumstances you'd know I'm a very nice person, I just can't stand people who are so self righteous enough to call someone else's picture "disgusting" when there are far more things on DA deserving of that insult.

Also, I wasted 2 whole minutes to see whether she knew anything about art since she seems to know what's not art. I did nothing to try to make myself feel better, if anything I was just disappointed that she had no idea what she was talking about when it comes to art, she even admitted she doesn't know anything about art yet she wants to judge it. But hey, apparently I'm a big no life for looking at someone's gallery, but then again that's what the gallery is for. To be looked at.

You can keep trying to "troll" me and act like a big passive aggressive ,snarky ,pompous, douche if you like. I can always reply and I won't block you, I just want to let you know that I can keep this up till you get tired. I'll still be here, I haven't got shit to do. Go ahead, keep getting pissed off and wasting your time, it pleases me. [link]

She can call whatever she wants 'disgusting'. You honestly DID NOT have to go and attack her. It's her choice. She dislikes something you like. Get a grip. Not everything revolves around you and your fucking opinions.

I won't be replying after this. Why? Cause you're an annoying, self-centred, ridiculous asshole.

You call me self centered and you talk about how not everything revolves around my opinion yet you argue her opinion as if her opinion was the only one that mattered. Do you see the redundancy and hypocrisy in these statements? You don't like my opinion because it clashes with hers. Same fucking shit.

"You honestly DID NOT have to go and attack her." The same way she attacked that photographer? You're flustered maybe because you know what I'm saying is true, because it is. You both accuse other of doing things that you both are doing whilst saying that. Fact is, it was her choice to attack that photographer like a fucking bitch and a cunt, insisting her opinion in such a way that she did and it was my choice to defend him and argue my point. Why is it okay for her to share her offensive opinion but its not okay for me to share mine? If you don't want someone to argue with you, don't post a fucking opinion but no, I understand you two. You're okay with someone as long as they agree with you.

Isn't it just a form of artistic nude? One of the categories on DA's photography list? I mean I don't wanna get into a whole thing here but the female body IS considered artistic and DA approves of it being used as art

*le sigh*

Whatever happened to a nice photo simply being a nice photo? Apparently, these days, the only way for your work to be art is for it to be grungy and dark and grim with weird shit all over. With the freaky makeup and the freaky hair and the "what-the-hell-were-you-smoking-when-you-did-this" feel to it. Why can't it just be a nice photo?

Or is that simply not good enough anymore?

And I like this photo. I would've probably edited it differently, but I like it.

Is advertisement not a form of art now? I seem to remember some DeviantArt contests for DA advertising.
Or is it really the lingerie aspect of the photograph? Haven't there been DA hoodie design contests as well?
Frankly, I find your self-righteous attitude disgusting.
Get over yourself and stop projecting your own issues onto others.

Also:
Good photo. The lighting is a little harsh, but other than that I like it.

thks for the words. never understood the need to bash other peoples work especially when there page is full of wackness.. there are far worse things on DA than denises breast. the only reason i posted this paticular pic cause someone else painted it which you can see in my favs. the people that are always complaining and saying there defending the arts or what ever are usually the most closed minded.

NO U!
<_<

lol Seriously, come one. It's photography; this website has a section for photography. Who are you to decide suddenly that this type of photograph is not art, after so many people before you have already accepted it as... well... art?
And why am I not allowed to reply in disagreement with you, but you can reply negatively to this photo? Doesn't make sense to me.
So, I maintain the original premise of my first post - get over yourself and stop pushing your issues onto other people.

I didn't start this discussion just to put you down, or disagree with you, or just to argue with someone, I replied because I believe it is wrong for people to put down an artist simply because they've made the decision that the work is not art.
The fact that you think your opinion is so important that the artist should know how little you think of his work is what prompted my reply.
That you would call someone's work "disgusting" while belittling his photography is what I found disgusting, and I will not apologize for defending an artist.
If you are so offended by this picture, you didn't have to look at it.
And how can you tell me not to reply if I disagree, and yet you can reply to this photo that you disagree with?
Again, you just don't make any sort of logical sense.
Carry on telling people whether or not their work is art.
Maybe you'll get lucky and change the world.
